Interactive Christmas Book Reveals the Parallels Between the Mass and Jesus’ Birth

[Exton, PA, October 5, 2023—]

The Mass and the Manger helps parents make Christmas spiritually meaningful for children with connections to the wonders of the Mass—just in time for the USCCB’s National Eucharistic Revival.

As the Advent season approaches, the newest book by award-winning author Jennifer Sharpe provides a new resource for parents and grandparents seeking to teach Catholic children the true meaning of Christmas. The Mass and the Manger: My Interactive Christmas Story follows the story of two young Catholics’ experience of midnight Mass and uncovers the meaning of Christmas found in the Mass and the celebration of the Eucharist.

“The important connection between the Mass and the first Christmas is truly the heart of this book,” says Sharpe. “The Mass and the Manger helps children see the true meaning of Christmas—how out of love, Jesus made himself present in the world and how one can rejoice in Christ’s birth at every Mass. It is a resource to help parents teach their children about Jesus’ enduring presence in the Eucharist through the story of that first Christmas.”

The Mass and the Manger, designed to appeal to children ages 6 to 10, features full-page, fold-out flaps to help them discover amazing connections between the birth of Jesus and the Mass. Rhyming text, vibrant illustrations, and captivating storytelling draw them into the wonders of the Mass.

Jennifer Sharpe’s debut children’s book with Ascension, My First Interactive Mass Book, won two Association of Catholic Publishers Excellence in Publishing Awards. During the USCCB’s National Eucharistic Revival, her newest release promises to become a cherished resource helping the youngest Catholics engage in this revival of Eucharistic faith.
