Fr. Mike Schmitz was invited to share the meaning of Good Friday on FOX News today. He shared that “Good Friday… brings joy.” Full video here.
Fr. Mike proclaimed the Gospel to this national secular audience:
“GK Chesterton… said that ‘joy is the gigantic secret of the Christian. […]
What we’re celebrating today, on Good Friday, is this truth that not only is there a God, and not only does that God know your name and care about you, but also that God loves you so much — you are so important to the true and living God, Jesus Christ — that He was actually willing to become one of us, [and to] suffer the worst possible death, for the love of you and for me.
And so… to be able to realize, I’m not alone in this universe, my life does mean something, and not only that, but I matter to God. That brings happiness, that brings even more than happiness: it brings joy.”
