Ascension Press announced today it has reached an agreement with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal (C.F.R.) to produce and distribute a new video series featuring the Order’s ministry to the poor.
The series will be available on Ascension Presents, the company’s popular media platform, every Friday at 3:30 p.m. EST. “We’re delighted to work with one of the Church’s most dynamic new Orders,” Ascension producer Maria Mitchell said. “The Franciscan Friars are doing amazing work among the homeless and God is working through them in powerful ways. We’re going to capture that remarkable charism and its effects on behalf of some of God’s most special souls.”
The series will be hosted by Brother Mark Mary on location in the CFR Friary in the Bronx, NY. It will reveal the Providential “back story” of the Friars humble beginnings in Central America over 20 years ago and share their current experiences among the poorest of the poor. “God is alive and working in the lives of many souls who are badly in need of hope,” Brother Mark said. “Our message is that He can work wonders in our lives too … if we let Him in.
In mid-March, the Friars released their first video on YouTube entitled “God’s Providence and Nachos.” It drew over 17,000 viewers in less than 75 days.
