[Exton, PA, October 1, 2018—] Ascension, the world leader in Catholic Faith Formation, launched a new
online, home-based, small group video series with popular
catholic evangelist Mike Gormley. The series is entitled Radical
Communities.
The first two parts – Don’t Walk Alone and That One Thing –
aired beginning September 20. The third and fourth parts –
Followers of the Way and Radical Newness – are scheduled to
air November 19.
“The series is targeted to Millennials primarily,” said
Ascension’s project manager, Allen Austin. “It’s about
discipleship, being in community, even small communities. It’s
about living as catholics in a hyper secular world. Mike is very
charismatic, funny actually, and world class at engaging young
people. He has a way of drawing people in and getting them to
share their journeys in faith and develop the spiritual side of
their relationships.”
Mike Gormley added: “Technology can isolate people and fragment their attention. That’s not how Christians are called to live. Our collaboration with Ascension is about utilizing technology for a very different purpose. We’re going to be creating small groups who can interact, ask questions about anything, and actually pray together without any of them having to leave their homes.”
Gormley first came to the attention of Ascension’s more than a
quarter of a million listeners and viewers when he was featured
on the Ascension Roundtable Podcast. “The feedback was
enormously positive,” said Allen. “We talked about a platform
for his desire to form a world-wide community of young people
who encouraged and inspired each other. Out of those
discussions, Radical Communities was born!”
