Family Wisdom for Bringing Faith into the Home “Beyond Sunday”

[Exton, PA, August 24, 2022—]

Married couples Adam & Haylee Minihan and David & Pamela Niles inspire others to build up their family’s domestic church in a new book: Living Beyond Sunday.

On a mission to share what they have learned about raising young families in the Faith, first-time authors Adam & Haylee Minihan and David & Pamela Niles put pen to paper and created Living Beyond Sunday, a new marriage and family resource that defines practical ways for each family to build up their domestic church.

Defining the domestic church as a “reflection of the universal church,” a place where children’s hearts and minds are formed in Christ, Living Beyond Sunday points out the ways that families are already cultivating a domestic church and how they can build upon their progress.

“We wrote this short book to honor the ‘little things’—to bring glory to the ordinary, everyday acts of domestic life,” write the co-authors. “These are things that any Catholic family can do, tangible ways to bring the liturgy to your home.”

With nine young children among them, the co-authors incorporate real-life advice from the trenches of young parenthood and present what they wish new parents knew about raising Catholic families. Living Beyond Sunday provides Catholic parents with a blueprint for striving toward sainthood, children and all!

Adam Minihan and David Niles are also the hosts of the popular podcast The Catholic Man Show and recently welcomed their wives onto the show for a special episode celebrating the book release.

Countering the World’s View of Marriage and Family

Living Beyond Sunday presents an authentically Catholic view of marriage and family life—one that stands counter to the messages often heard in the mainstream media.

“Something that I’ve learned from writing this book is that we all need each other to get to heaven,” says father, husband, and co-author Adam Minihan. “We all have a unique duty to serve one another, and it takes a family to get there.”

Catherine Hadro, EWTN News contributor and the founding host of EWTN Pro-Life Weekly, draws in wisdom from St. John Paul II to paint a picture of the importance of the domestic church in the modern world:

“Saint John Paul II famously once said, ‘As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live.’ It’s a truth that’s increasingly evident to us today—and why Living Beyond Sunday is a welcome new addition to my bookshelf. The home is the ultimate school of love, and Living Beyond Sunday is a comprehensive and practical playbook for each one of us to examine our role in building up the domestic church—no matter our particular vocation. This book—equipped with prayers, Church teaching, and thoughtful reflections—will give you a new lens on how you strive for sainthood at home and within your own family.”

Cy Kellett, the host of Catholic Answers Live, also cited a need for the domestic church in the world today when offering his endorsement:

“Living Beyond Sunday provides a treasure trove for anyone wanting to fill a home with the love and peace of Christ the King. The modern world has been brutal on family life, but couples are not alone when they take up the hard task of creating truly Christian homes. Christ has filled his Church with wisdom and help. Haylee and Adam, Pamela and David have tapped into rich veins of teaching from modern popes and theologians to write Living Beyond Sunday, but the text is steeped in their own lived experience. The result is a tremendously practical and helpful book.”

Using the authors’ own experiences to identify what struggles married couples and families face when sharing the Faith and striving toward heaven, the advice of Living Beyond Sunday is attuned to the challenges of the modern world. It offers the inspiration and support that mothers, fathers, and families seek when living out a Catholic lifestyle by leading all readers to the one who offers eternal peace—our heavenly Father.
